A Note from Allen

This is one of the most important hires I've ever made.

Hi, I'm Allen Parr. For over 10 years, I've been building The Beat — a YouTube channel and ministry dedicated to helping believers understand the Bible, defend their faith, and grow in their walk with Christ.

By God's grace, we've grown to reach millions of people across the world, and we're just getting started. I have a vision to produce even more cinematic, visually compelling, deeply biblical content — the kind of videos that don't just inform people, but move them. Videos that inspire, equip, and educate believers and seekers alike.

To do that, I need to expand my editing team. That's where you come in.

The Role

What You'd Be Doing

You'd be editing long-form YouTube videos for The Beat — typically 20 to 40 minutes in finished length. Our videos are involved. They blend teaching, storytelling, cinematic b-roll, AI-generated visuals, green screen segments, motion graphics, and carefully crafted sound design.

This isn't cut-and-paste editing. This is storytelling with a purpose.

Each editor on our team will be responsible for roughly one video per month, which gives you the time and space to produce your absolute best work. There's also potential opportunity down the road to edit course content for our other ministry products as the fit grows.

We'd rather have four editors doing exceptional work than two editors rushing through eight videos.

Compensation

Paid Per Video. Fairly.

This is a contract / freelance role, paid per video on a tiered structure based on complexity. Tier is determined by the scope of each individual video and assigned in advance, so you always know what you're being paid before you start.

Tier 1
Standard
$400 – $600
per video

Teaching-focused videos with lighter b-roll and graphics.

Tier 2
Enhanced
$700 – $1,000
per video

Moderate AI visuals, custom motion graphics, deeper sound design.

Tier 3
Cinematic
$1,200 – $1,800
per video

Heavy AI animation, advanced motion graphics, cinematic grading, layered storytelling.

Roughly 1 video per month, per editor · Remote · Contract role

The Bar

This Is the Level We're Hiring For.

Every video below blends AI-generated visuals, motion graphics, cinematic sound design, and narrative storytelling. This is the caliber of work our editors produce. If you watch these and feel confident you could create work at this level today — not someday — we'd love to meet you. If not, please save us both the time.

If these videos feel out of reach for your current skill level, that's okay — but this isn't the right role for you yet. We'd rather you keep building your craft and apply when you're ready than start a role you can't deliver on.

The Fit

What We're Looking For.

Required

  • 3–5+ years of professional video editing experience
  • Strong proficiency in DaVinci Resolve (preferred) or Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Motion graphics experience
  • Color grading experience (we shoot in 4K, sometimes in log)
  • Sound design skills — you know how to layer music and SFX that match the emotional tone of each scene
  • Green screen keying experience, or willingness to be trained in DaVinci Resolve
  • A robust computer capable of handling 4K and log footage without crashing
  • Fast internet: minimum 1 Gbps up AND 1 Gbps down. This is non-negotiable.
  • Responsive and professional communication — replies to Frame.io comments and messages within one business day
  • Reliable and punctual — meets deadlines consistently
  • Strong attention to detail (spelling, pacing, continuity)
  • Brings your own storytelling instincts — doesn't wait for direction on every cut
  • Team player who takes constructive feedback well
  • A practicing Christian — this is a ministry, and the content you'll shape is theological

Preferred

  • +Experience editing YouTube-style content
  • +Portfolio or demo reel
  • +Experience editing Christian or faith-based content
  • +Doctrinally evangelical and theologically conservative
  • +Experience with AI-generation tools (Nano Banana Pro, Seedance, Runway, etc.) — if not, we'll train you
  • +Experience using Frame.io for revisions
Let's Be Honest

Who This is NOT For.

I want to be upfront so we don't waste each other's time.

  • If you need someone to micromanage every cut, this isn't the role for you.
  • If you view this as "just another editing gig," this isn't the role for you.
  • If you're uncomfortable with biblical content, apologetics, or theological topics — including end times, false teaching, and cultural issues — this isn't the role for you.
  • If your internet speed or computer can't handle heavy 4K workflows, please don't apply. You'll frustrate yourself and slow the team down.
The Partnership

What We Bring. What You Bring.

We Provide

  • Subscriptions to AI visual-generation tools (Nano Banana Pro, Seedance, and others)
  • Training on AI prompt workflows and our signature editing style
  • Training on green screen keying in DaVinci Resolve (if needed)
  • Direct collaboration with Allen and the rest of the editing team
  • Meaningful work that reaches millions of people with eternal impact

You Provide

  • Your own computer, editing software license, and plugins
  • Your own high-speed internet
  • Confidentiality (a simple NDA is part of onboarding)
  • Ownership transfer — all edited content is work-for-hire owned by Let's Equip, Inc.
Turnaround

Typically Two Weeks.

Most videos have a two-week turnaround from raw footage delivery to final approved cut. Simpler videos may be one week. Revisions are handled via Frame.io.
